A while ago I signed up to receive the daily quote from this website, Abraham-hicks.com. It's cool. It comes every day and I read it. I was especially drawn to this one because I would really like to experience world peace in my lifetime. I don't know if that will happen, but I do think we're headed in that direction. I read an article recently that said we are currently living in the most peaceful time in recorded history. There are fewer wars than ever before and less famine. Also, it said that with each generation we are getting more and more intelligent and less racist. I believe it. There are a lot of doubters out there, but I think things are looking up for humanity.
So, here is a quote from that website that was sent to me about a week ago. It's about world peace and selfishness I guess. Although I'm not sure selfishness is the right word:
World peace means one mindset big enough to make the decisions about what everybody else wants and the rest of the world conforming. That is the ultimate definition of world peace. You say, "Oh, let's get along!" And what each of you mean is, "You do what I want." A peaceful world means, "Everybody wanting what I want. Going along with what I want." And the only problem with that is: there are more than one of you, and you have endless desires that are born within you. The ultimate experience is everyone having their experience and launching their individual rockets of desire, and the Universe yielding to all of them simultaneously. And everybody not worrying about what anybody else created, and so, then allowing what they are wanting. What a world that is, when there are endless desirers—who are allowing the fulfillment of their own desires.
--- Abraham
So, then, this quote means that everyone should just do what they want to do and fulfill their own lives and in doing so, they would be so wrapped up in the joy of their own lives that what other people did wouldn't matter to them. They wouldn't feel the need to push their beliefs on anyone else because they would not need reassurance from anyone. They could go through life doing whatever they wanted, not hurting anyone, not needing anything from anyone, not feeling empty- not feeling the need to be filled by someone or some substance, because they would be so fulfilled from the inside out. And everyone would feel this way. Complete.
I'm thinking this is pretty right on. I'm thinking this is what Jesus, Mohammed, the Buddha and all them were trying to tell us. So, then, how can this work in today's day? How can government work and what role should it play? Because we need roads and libraries and those other things that come from our tax dollars and we need people who over see that stuff. How can individuals find the time to fulfill themselves when most people are just busy working and getting shit done? And how can a person fulfill themselves without seeming uncaring or selfish?
Well, the idea is I gather to start asking for what you want. Feel the need inside yourself and ask God, the universe, whatever, for it. Keep asking (praying, meditating) for it. Figure out why you want it and ask again. It's crazy, but it will come. I think the biggest hurdle in asking is feeling worthy of what ever you are asking for. But you are worthy, because you were born to earth and for no other reason. Another hurdle, of course, is fear. Fear will stand in the way of what you're looking for because it clogs the mind. It's like mind smog.
And so there will be no one world order. That's the trouble with systems of government- we're all expected to follow someone (usually a moron). We don't need that bullshit. What we could use, though is universal health care so people feel free to do what they want. But then, if everyone asked for what they wanted many would choose perfect health and we wouldn't need doctors anymore.
I don't know. It is a perplexing idea and I'd love for everyone to feel fulfilled doing whatever it is that makes them feel good. That is the point, right? To feel good. I'm going to keep thinking good thoughts and feeling good and trying to rub off on other people, but I'm not going to tell them how to live or what to believe. There are now 7 billion people in the world- individual minds, individual souls with different desires and different ways of living. Every single one of them should be asking for and doing what feels good to them inside.
